Practical activity

To develop a better understanding of the concept of density, students were asked to find out the density of same sized blocks, made up of different materials.

Liver of sheep was dissected to show it`s detailed structure. Student could actually feel the spongy texture and see the branched tubes.

Chemistry experiment

Year 9 reading to Year 1

Pic 1 and 2- Students in groups made models of the Human respiratory system using a balloons and straws. It helped them to understand how breathing movements make air move in and out of the lungs.

Pic 3-While studying the topic of Human Respiratory system, students measured the volume of air that can be pushed out of their lungs.

Topic: Osmosis

Goals: Consolidate in practice the students’ Theoretical knowledge from the Lesson “Osmosis” and allow students learn about how plants absorb water in practice by using colored water and celery stalks.

Practice: The supervisor had put celeries into colored water to demonstrate how the plants would absorb water. After 5 hours, students examined how the plants changed their color. Students cut the bottom of the celery and could see where the water transported up into the celery stem.

Topic: Pulse Rate

Goals: Consolidate in practice the students’ Theoretical knowledge from the Lesson “The circulatory system.” and allow students to not only learn about their heart, but also actually see and feel how their heart work.

Practice: Students divided into teams. Every team consisted of two students. Students in the team helped each other to measure their pulse on a wrist. Students discussed their results with partner and class.Topic: Pulse RateGoals: Consolidate in practice the students’ Theoretical knowledge from the Lesson “The circulatory system.” and allow students to not only learn about their heart, but also actually see and feel how their heart work.Practice: Students divided into teams. Topic: Heart pulse

Goals: Consolidate in practice the Theoretical knowledge from the Lesson “The circulatory system” and allow students to identify parts of the cardiovascular system and to understand the function of the blood within the circulatory system in practice.

Practice: the Supervisor has demonstrated visually the anatomy of a heart and explained the function of every parts of the cardiovascular system.
