Outside Classes
The last of the warm Autumn weather drew Year 11’s English class out in the sunshine for a morning reading session. As part of the IGCSE literary component, the class is reading the classic American novel, To Kill a Mockingbird.
The students are highly engaged with the novel, which deals with racial tensions in the pre-Civil Rights Act South.
They are making a weekly analysis of the writer's effects, tone, mood, explicit and implied language,as well as the historical context.
Fresh air, a great group of friends, and a great novel made a perfect start to the school day.
